Stroll Sunflower Hill: Sunday, April 28

Yellow arrow-leaf balsamroot flowers

10:00am, Sunday, April 28th

Campground Entrance of the KNP, St. Mary Lake Rd.

3.5km over 2 hours

Enjoy a spring-time stroll on Sunflower Hill in the Kimberley Nature Park. Starting from the Campground entrance on the St. Mary Lake Rd. We’ll cross the slope on Sunflower Hill Trail before climbing up to the upper Sunflower Hill Trail and returning to the Campground entrance via Duck Pond Trail.

Along the way we’ll be treated to vistas of the alluring St Mary Valley and the magnificent Rocky Mountains. But the things we’ll really be looking for will be long-flowered bluebells, balsamroot, mourning cloak butterflies, bluebirds, meadowlarks, a soaring bald eagle and who knows what other treasures!

Binoculars and magnifying glass will be great to have along to get good looks at some of our finds. Bring water and a snack and dress for the weather.
